Creation Station Fundraising

The 2019 Jigsaw Puzzle Tournament is cancelled because we have so much exciting stuff going on right now, we don’t have time to organize the puzzle tournament this year! But please check back in 2020 for a Jigsaw Puzzle Tournament.

Many of you may have heard about the new Creation Station makerspace at the Library. That space is currently equipped through a Library Innovation Studios grant funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and supported by the Nebraska Library Commission and Regional Library Systems, UNL Innovation Studio, and Nebraska Extension.

This equipment is leaving our Library on January 22, 2019 to travel on to another community library awarded the grant. We have been happy with the community response for this equipment and want to help the Library by fundraising for new permanent equipment for our Creation Station.

There are several ways to donate to this project:

  • Complete the online Donor Pledge Form or Complete and Return the PDF version of the Donor Pledge Form via email to create@npplfoundation.org or with your good check to the address below.
  • Mail a check to:
    North Platte Public Library
    Attn: Creation Station Fundraiser
    120 W 4th ST
    North Platte NE 69101
Please make checks payable to: NPPL Foundation
  • Make your donation online through the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation and the North Platte Public Library Foundation at https://midnebraskafoundation.org/how-to-give/donate.html, specify the North Platte Public Library Foundation Fund and if you want your donation to be used for the Creation Station and/or specific equipment, please note that under special instructions or when mailing in your check.
  • Visit the Library and drop your spare change into a jar at the desk or in the Creation Station, every little bit helps!
  • Call Cecelia Lawrence, Library Director, at 308-535-8036 x3321 for an appointment to talk about giving opportunities for this and many other projects in the Library.
  • Email the Library at library@ci.north-platte.ne.us and pledge your donation, please include instructions if you would like us to invoice you for your pledge. An NPPL Foundation member, Library Staff member, or community champion will be contacting you!

If you have questions about the Creation Station Project, please email create@npplfoundation.org.

Changes for 2018:

There are a maximum number of teams accepted into each division due to limitations of space. The tournament arena holds a maximum of 28 tables during concurrent division play with spectators. The maximums are:

  • STUDENT 2-3 Grade: 28 tables / teams
  • STUDENT 4-5 Grade: 28 tables / teams
  • STUDENT Middle School & ADULT Individual: 15 tables / teams, combined
  • ADULT 2-Person: 15 tables / teams

Registrations will be taken in order received and early registration is strongly encouraged.

Once the maximum registrations per division have been received, overflow registrants will be notified that their team / puzzler(s) are on standby.
